As one of the best Saints players of all time, Drew Brees cemented his place in the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame yesterday.

Brees was the most recent player to be elected into this esteemed group, continuing an annual tradition that was began in 1988 with Archie Manning as the first player.

Drew left the Chargers after just five years and lived in New Orleans for fifteen years. As one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, he finished his career in New Orleans having broken multiple records.

Matt Pendleton

These are his official stats throughout his fifteen years in New Orleans.

491 touchdowns, 68,010 passing yards, and a 68.8% completion percentage. He finished with 80,358 yards, 571 touchdowns, and a 67.7% completion rate throughout the course of his 20-year career.

Drew will be admitted into more Halls of Fame in the future. Brees will be eligible to enter the NFL Hall of Fame in 2026, and he will undoubtedly be selected first on the ballot.

Brees defied the stereotype of the diminutive quarterback by being an estimated 6 feet tall, but more like 5-11. He opened the door for the NFL to take chances with players who weren’t built like Peyton Mannings.

There are a number of quarterbacks in the NFL who are about six feet tall and have had lengthy, prosperous careers.

Most recently, Bryce Young and Caleb Williams were taken first overall, Baker Mayfield saw a career revival in Tampa Bay, and all three players are closer to the calibre of Drew Brees.

Drew, congratulations!
